Cloak The Scribe
Inspired by hip hop icon Tupac Shakur, Rapper Cloak The Scribe Is set to release & showcase his crisp flow and love for his hometown of Chicago. "Chicago is my birthing grounds. Everything I learned about being a solid individual, hard worker, hustler, strong-spirit, and even gangster to a point, came from growing up in Chicago."
After hearing the lyricism, beats, and all-around musicianship showcased on the song "so many tears" by Tupac, a 10-year-old Cloak knew it was time to pick up his pen and follow his inspiration. "That's what got me going," said Cloak The Scribe. "Tupac, God rest his soul, was my motivation, my impetus, he knew how to write well and touch your soul."
The chi-town artist has been an underground sensation. His first hit song, Life Music, hit hard and won him the respect of many in his hometown. Then his freshman body of work, Dreams of A Giant, secured his place as a bonafide rapper.
Cloak has also navigated through the battle rap scene for several years, honing his skills as a lyricist and garnering awards on major platforms including a special BET CYPHER series in his community on May of 2015.
Vent Sessions (Volume 1) is the latest release by Chicago Native and Veteran Emcee Cloak The Scribe. It is a lyrical onslaught and prequel to his sophomore album. With release of “Just Say That” with CamQuotes, “Politics & Culture” with Benny The Butcher, RJ Oliver, RavO. Cloak is gearing up for his return after his 2023 hiatus.
